The II International Congress of Restorers

September 16-18, 2015

The II International Congress of Restorers was held at the 70th anniversary of UNESCO, and gathered reputed specialists and experts for discussion of national and international practice in the sphere of preservation and restoration of historical and cultural heritage.

«The I Congress of Restorers showed how important for the restoration community are such events, where the most serious issues and problems in the sphere of preservation and cultural heritage of our country are raised. According to the results of work, not bad results have been achieved by the time of the II Congress. This year the emphasis was laid on the practice of applying innovations in the regulation of activity of preservation of cultural heritage. I hope that the best examples presented at the Congress, will be implemented into our daily work».

Milk Agency ensured actualization of stylistic design conception of the event as well as total update and follow-on development of the website www.rcongress.ru. A new interactive version of the Congress program was developed, the website was adapted for smartphones and tablets. Languages of the website are Russian and English.

Photo- and video materials of the Congress events as well as speakers’ reports and welcome words of officials, resolution and section for reviews were posted on the website after the Congress closure.

There were 6 round tables, elections to the ICOMOS Provisional Council of Russia, the I All-Russian Congress of the Russian Union of Restorers as well as the awarding ceremony with department awards of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation were held in the course of the business program. The Exhibition dedicated to the largest Russian restoration projects was organized. There were museums and theatres, religious architecture and fortresses, farmsteads and castles among the objects of the exhibition.

15 media sponsors including TASS agency, Komsomolskaya Pravda and Izvestia newspapers, Russia 24 TV-channel etc. were involved for cooperation within the PR-campaign of the Congress. A resolution was adopted following the results of the Congress; implementation of its theses will facilitate the following development of a restoration branch in Russia and strengthening of international cooperation in the sphere of restoration and protection of objects of cultural heritage.

Entertainment program included the reception in the name of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, gala concert at Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Musa Jalil, reception in the name of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, three tours –guided tours in Kazan, Bolgar and Sviyazhsk island.
