Organization of Our Jazz Festival in Crimea
Motor rally, which was a beginning of the number of events with the general name “Our Jazz” was started at the end of July in Moscow in the course of The Year of Culture 2014 sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
Our Jazz Festival united love for jazz music and admiration for vintage cars, which witnessed initiation and establishment of jazz musical culture in Russia at the beginning and in the middle of the XX century. In the summer of 2014 music bands in classic cars, like the Bremen Town Musicians, set off to Crimea to hold a grand musical festival there. And they did it.

Milk Agency created an information website (nash-jazz.ru), which covered all the events from the beginning of the motor rally to the festival in Crimea. There are three sections operating on the website: Moscow, Motor Rally and Crimea. All stages in the form of photo, video and audio content are posted there in the convenient for users format.
A ceremonial start of motor rally of vintage cars was held by the way of Moscow-Koktebel-Moscow on July 26. 20 cars participated in the motor rally. The gala part of the event was opened by the Executive Director of public television of Russia and the President of the media club «Auto Mobile» Igor Naygovzin, saxophonist Anton Rumyantsev and the Executive Director of the National Foundation of Rightholders Support Natalya Goydenko. The host of the event is Igor Pan’kov, the editor of the morning show High Society Show at Maximum radio. Evdokia Lehrer&Orchester as well as Anton Rumyantsev’s jazz quartet performed for the guests during the musical part of the evening.
Gala start was finished with festive fireworks and departure of the cars to Crimea. Motor rally of vintage cars had its stops in Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don and Anapa.
Concerts of Live People jazz quartet that participated in the motor rally was organized during all stops, as well as the exhibition of the cars, participants of the motor rally. Guests of the concerts were welcomed by retro-style animators. Hipsters handed around branded balloons and entertained all guests of the event. Representatives of administrations of cities took the floor with welcome speech at the impromptu stage.
Motor rally ended in the settlement of Koktebel, where Our Jazz musical festival was held on August 2 and August 3. Such aces of jazz as Daniil Kramer, Anatoly Kroll, Anton Rumyantsev, Ensemble of solo artists of the Foundation named after Oleg Lundstrem, Billy’s Band and oth. performed at the stage during 2 days of the festival. The program of the festival was diversified by unusual fortepiano sounds – Bel Suono trio, the knights of three grand pianos.
The festival was hosted by Kirill Moshkov – Russian journalist, jazz reviewer, writer, publisher and chief editor of Jazz.ru magazine, chief editor of the leading Russian jazz portal www.jazz.ru.
